Hillsboro - Mrs. Bessie V. Crowder, 85 died Thursday afternoon (June 21, 1979) in Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. Mrs. Crowder was a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church and charter member of its Come Join Us Class. She was a 50-year member of Fern Chapter OES of Hillsboro. Born near Hillsboro July 19, 1893, she was a daughter of Howard and Mary E. Davidson. She graduated from Wallace HS in 1913. She was married to Grover B. Crowder Sept 20, 1914. He preceded her in death April 24, 1977. She is survived by a son, John H. of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Dorothy) Scott of Hillsboro and Mrs. Maryhelen Glascock Niskala of Schoolcraft, Mich; two brothers, Charles Davidson of Indianapolis and Sam Davidson of Wallace; five sisters, Miss Mary E. Davidson and Mrs. Elizabeth Brunot of Indianapolis and Mrs. Nina Crim of Benton Harbor, Mich; Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Brown of Veedersburg and Mrs. Jack (Jeffa) Leonard of Carmel; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro with Revs. Ernest Hayden and Gill Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. - kbz

Mrs. Bessie Crowder, 85, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, June 21, 1979, at the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville.

  Born July 19, 1893, near Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Howard and Mollie Keeling Davidson. She was married Sept. 20, 1914 to Grover B. Crowder, who died April 24, 1977.

  Mrs. Crowder was a member of the United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Come Join Us Sunday School Class. She was a 50 year member of the Fern Chapter Order of Eastern Star and was a 1913 graduate of Wallace High School.

  Survivors include a son, John H. of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Dorothy) Scott of Hillsboro and Mrs. Marihelen Glascock Niskala of Schoolcraft, Mich.; two brothers, Charles Davidson of Indianapolis and Sam Davidson of Wallace; five sisters, Miss Mary E. Davidson and Mrs. Elizabeth Brunot, both of Indianapolis, Mrs. Nina Crim of Benton Harbor, Mich., Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Brown of Veedersburg Route 3 and Mrs. Jack (Jessa) Leonard of Carmel, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

  She also was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

  Services were held Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Ernest Hayden and the Rev. Gil Hubbard officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. – thanks to S
